In recent days and weeks I've had the pleasure of making some fab characters for cakes!
There's Edward Scissorhands...  I luuurrrve him! He was stood on an 8" cake, which gives you a sense of his size! All in sugar, he has real scissor hands, which was kind of scary to make... could easily have broken them.
Then there is The Script...  These were for a 14 year old girl who came for cupcake decorating with her friends. I was so nervous about handing this over... but Rachel's reaction when she saw it was fabulous! |

This week has been relatively quiet compared to others this month!
The main project has been to create a totally personalised motorbike topper and character. Margaret provided photos of the motorbike, down to the number plate on the back, and I used them to create a mini replica in sugar!

 Christenings are always a great time to enjoy a cake...
This teddy bear cake was for twin boys, 'Harry' and 'Archie'. A two tier cake with vanilla cake with jam and cream, and a chocolate fudge cake to serve approximately 40 guests.
Each bear is made from sugar paste and completely edible... but who would eat such gorgeousness?!!

It's that time of year when all we want to do is eat, eat, eat!!! One of the main things is to have a Christmas cake, usually a rich fruit cake, this is made months in advance so that it can mature with a fantastic flavour. At Cakes by Occasion our Christmas cake is fed with lashings of brandy, to give that rich flavour and a moist, succulent taste.  You can have the traditional design with snowflakes, more contemporary with a parcel theme or try the fun design with Christmas characters. This cake was for a fabulous client who always knows exactly what he wants in a cake! |
