Oh my! How long it's been since I wrote on my blog!!!
It seems that the summer was so hectic I didn't get five minutes to my self unless collapsed in a heap of exhaustion between cakes, children and family. Then it's been straight back into a new term with even more to do!
Anyway...
... thought I'd report on this weekend's fantastic exhibition by Cake International at Birmingham NEC. There were soooo many people there, it was totally cramped at some points but the level of competition entries were phenominal. In my booty of goodies bought is Sugar Veil, a tool for making edable lace pieces for cakes; Artista, unbelieveably lightweight for making figures and flowers; cutters galore; cupcake cases and loads of fantastic advice given by some brilliant cakers. I had a fabulous time and am now busy planning some beautiful cake designs using all of my new toys!!
Just to finish...

... this was my favourite cake of the day. I don't know the makers name as I'm daft not writing it down, but it was awarded 'Gold'. Many congratulations to them, a totally stunning dragon cake.
